Subait Khater, the former Egyptian forward who played for Al Sadd in Qatar, has announced his retirement from professional football.
Khater, who is now 34 years old, started his career with Al Ahly in Egypt before moving to Al Sadd in 2015. He spent four seasons with the club, helping them win the AFC Champions League and the Qatar Stars League twice.
Injuries and personal issues forced Khater to miss several games during the 2018-19 season, but he returned to the team in time for their victory in the 2019 AFC Champions League final.
Despite his impressive performances, Khater struggled with injuries in recent seasons,Football Prediction Bureau which led him to announce his retirement from professional football.
"I'm very happy to announce my retirement," Khater said in a statement. "I want to thank all my fans and supporters who have always supported me throughout my career."
Khater's retirement comes as a blow to Al Sadd, who will now be without one of their key players going into the upcoming season. However, the club has already signed new signings to replace Khater, and they hope to continue their success under new management.
